Stewardship

Ponder a Stewardship TRUST

We might be thinking and rightly so. I know that I can trust God. He loves me so totally and gives me blessings beyond measure and the gift of Jesus as my Savior and best friend. I am a child of God.

We absolutely agree! But did you ever think about the flip side: that God trusts us. He created us to be stewards or trustees of His world and all of life and life’s resources to be used for God’s purposes.

Christian stewardship is the free and joyous activity of the child of God and God’s family, the church, in managing all of life and life’s resources for God’s purposes.

God’s love is our motivation. God’s trust inspires our responsibility and is an encouragement to us to use God’s blessings to us for His purposes. His forgiveness encourages us onward to keep growing in stewardship. This trustee/steward/manager relationship actually provides the very purpose for our lives.

Our mental picture of a trust might reveal a very mature, member of a board who governs or advises a church, a corporation, etc. Actually, the steward-ship trustee is God’s child of any age or circumstance joyfully serving as steward of all God has shared. We don’t own the blessings and gifts from God, no matter what our age. We manage them for His purposes!

We are all maturing stewards in the church, community and families where we live our lives. Let’s encourage one another! Looking forward to continued, purposeful, exciting growing together in stewardship.
