Sermon theme: The Great Commission or Omission

INTRODUCTION

Some people carry the idea that God is too inquisitive, so we formulate ways we can block him out…

The theme of today’s message is the great commission or omission: in many churches today, the commission to go has been omitted from everyday church life. I want to take a fresh look at the great commission today.

WE HAVE A DIVINE MANDATE—To make disciples of all nations

There are two ways we can do this:

It involves our lifestyle
It involves our lips

WE HAVE A DIVINE MESSAGE—To obey everything

WE HAVE A DIVINE MISSION—To go

The question is how are we doing? Are we fulfilling the great commission? Or are we guilty of the great omission?

WE HAVE A DIVINE MENTOR—Jesus doesn’t sent us into this world without any resources

We are promised his presence
We are promised his power
